Why Coaching Won't Solve Your Problems

This time last year, I was sure that if I just had an amazing coach, I could make the progress I wanted so badly.
 
But, because I was so determined to have 1-to-1 support, believing that this would allow me to make the best and fastest progress, I resisted group coaching, even though I couldn’t afford the 1-to-1 coaching I so badly wanted.
 
You see, I was overwhelmed by the idea of going through a huge group programme, working on and clarifying things that I believed I was already clear on, and fighting for my coach’s attention, when I barely even had the time to take a shower.
 
So, when I jumped on a discovery call with a coach who I couldn’t afford to hire, she told me that, whether I worked 1-to-1 or in a group, my success was entirely my responsibility.
 
She said that no matter how much I paid her to work 1-to-1, that it wasn’t her job to solve my problems.

She told me that there were NO GUARANTEES, and that if I truly expected to kick-ass in business, I had to be prepared to take risks, I had to immerse myself in the skills and mindset of business success, I had to go out and take massive, fearless action, and I had to surround myself with incredible and inspirational women, who would help to lift me up.
 
Not women who were struggling to find clients, and make money in their business, while fearfully hiding away and putting out weak messages; but trailblazing women who were taking risks, getting super visible, and kicking ass themselves!
 
And, with that, I signed up to her group programme on the spot; even though I was struggling to pay bills and had no line of credit available to me; at $1000 a month!

I borrowed the first payment from my grandad, which was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever done, because I’d always been so proud and private, and had never borrowed money from my family before. I was so terrified to tell him what it was for, believing that he’d think so much less of me, or would conclude that I’d lost my marbles. But he just told me that he trusted my choices, and loaned me the money without question.
 
I had no idea where I was going to get the next payment from either. But, thanks to that huge mindset shift, to finally recognising that my success was my business, I was empowered to completely transform everything about my business.
 
The experience of learning from someone who was ahead of me, and being surrounded by women who were striving to be remarkable too, allowed me to take giant leaps, rather than the baby steps of the previous year. And, as a result, I was able to expand my offerings, attract more clients than I could handle, and put my prices up time and time and time again. And with so much less struggle than I’d had before.
 
Plus, I made every subsequent monthly payment without issue, my grandad got his money back in just 3 months, and I started easily paying my bills (and repaying my significant credit card debts).
 
So, if you’re looking at my “from Struggling-2-Sensational” group coaching programme, and questioning whether it’s right for you, whether you can make the time to work through all of the sessions, and whether you have what it takes to create a totally awesome business, then it’s probably not right for you.
