Ever wondered what the difference is between an average coach and a great coach?
Think maybe it’s their qualifications? Their beliefs and expectations? Their experiences? Their expertise? Nope. It’s none of those. In fact, I know scores of coaches who have top notch qualifications, a strong, healthy and abundant mindset, dozens of note-worthy experiences, and unparalleled expertise, who still aren’t helping to transform lives with their work. How about the professionalism of their website, the attractiveness of their branding, or the quality of their head shots? Nope, none of that either. I’ve gotten on discovery calls with coaches who have the most incredible websites, super pro branding and beautiful pics. And yet they’ve never even worked with a single paying client, let alone started making an impact as a coach. Maybe it's the number of likes they have on Facebook, the amount of interaction on their pages, the number of followers on Twitter. Afraid not. In fact, the coaches that spend their time focused on amassing social media followers, are generally the ones that aren’t spending time focused on making a big impact. That’s because they’re more concerned about how they look to others, and so waste time nursing their ego by trying to build a big following. But seriously, none of that stuff really makes the difference. You see, the real difference between an average coach and a great coach, has nothing to do with the coach, their branding or their social following… It’s all about the quality of the clients they work with. You see, no matter how good a coach you are, no matter how qualified you are, no matter what your expertise… if you can’t create high quality clients, then you’ll find yourself stuck in an endless cycle of sales calls that rarely convert (“I can’t afford it”, “I need to think about it”, “I’d love to but…”); clients who self-sabotage, get stuck in victim mode every time they’re close to a breakthrough, and rarely renew because they just don’t get the results they wanted; and a decidedly average reputation. And if you think that you can't get quality clients until you become a great coach. Think again. It's that kind of not good enough thinking that leads to so many potentially great coaches and consultants getting stuck in mediocrity for months, and even years. You see, when you decide to be a GREAT coach, and step up as the CEO of your biz, instead of just a frazzled entrepreneur (aka multitasking employee IN your biz), all it takes it to know exactly who you want to work with and how to reach them, so you can stop trying to convince the not-ready, not-willing and not-able. Instead, focus your energy on the want-it-now, ready-to-go, and will-do-what-it-takes clients who will jump at the chance to work with you (at ANY price), constantly up-level their beliefs and actions, and create the incredible results they desire. Leaving you with glowing testimonials, easy renewals, and the reputation of a GREAT coach. And, of course, the income that goes with it ;) Jo xx P.S.
